BBQ Shiitake Mushroom Skewers
A quick and easy Shiitake Mushroom skewers recipe that’ll get all the attention at a BBQ with just some simple ingredients that you already have at home. We’ve added some extra roasted peanuts and spring onions for contrasting textures and flavours - of course with our Chinese Chilli Oil.

Serves: 4 -6
INGREDIENTS
- 600 Grams Below Farm Shiitake Mushrooms
- 60 grams of melted salted butter
- 2 tb of soy sauce
- Curious Elephant Chinese Chilli Oil
- Handful of chopped roasted peanuts
- Chopping spring onions as garnish
- Optional Salt
INSTRUCTIONS
- Soak your wooden skewers for at least an hour in water to prevent them from burning on the BBQ
- Preheat your BBQ, timing will depend on either if you have gas or coal
- Melt the butter and combine in a bowl with soy sauce, mix well and cover the Shiitake mushrooms in the mixture and let it sit for at least 30 minutes
- Skewer the mushrooms on the skewer and cook on the grill
- Grill the skewers for around 3 minutes on each side and turn
- Garnish on a plate with spring onions and crushed peanuts
